An art historian, she graduated in 2003 in Cultural Heritage Conservation from the University of Pisa, where she also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Art History with a specialisation in contemporary art. She has been a member of staff at the Ministry of Culture since 2010.
She served on the committee for the conferral of the title of cultural heritage conservator under Article 182 of the Cultural Heritage Code.
From 2017 to 2021, within the Directorate-General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes of the MIC, she was head of the Research operational unit and point of contact for the cultural heritage conservators remit within the Professionals operational unit.
She was a member of the working group for drafting the MIC’s contribution to the National Research Plan 2021–2027, and led the preparatory phases for the conclusion of numerous national and international agreements concerning research and training activities by various ministerial institutes.
From 2018 to 2021 she was point of contact for the research, curatorial and exhibition projects of the Uffizi Galleries in the field of contemporary art, and collaborated (2015–16) on the teaching and curatorial activities of the Gabinetto dei Disegni e delle Stampe.
She is currently Director of the consultancy service to the conservation departments for the conservation of contemporary artworks and of the Mural Paintings, Paper and Parchment Materials, and Polychrome Wooden Sculptures departments at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure; since May 2024 she has been Director of the OPD School of Advanced Training, where she is also course leader in Contemporary Art History. She was a member of the technical-scientific coordination committee of the OPD/FOP Master’s programme in Conservation and Management of Contemporary Art, and has designed, directed and coordinated numerous restoration projects within her areas of competence.
