For every of the course, each student is required to pay the Opificio delle Pietre Dure a fee as a reimbursement of expenses, which includes the costs of the student’s accident and civil liability insurance.
(on the basis of paragraphs 2 and 3 of ART. 3 of the Regolamento delle Scuole di Alta Formazione e di Studio of the Ministry of Culture issued with Decree DG – ERIC dated 6 October 2021, no. 281). Students are also required to pay a Regional Study Tax (Tassa regionale per il diritto allo studio), which is calculated annually by the Region.
Payment method
Except for the Regional Tax, all payments of tuition and fees related to OPD’s SAFS are to be made on the PagoPA platform via the following link (available only in Italian):

After logging in, students must:
select ”pagamenti online”
from the dropdown “seleziona un istituto”, select “Opificio delle Pietre Dure”
then from the dropdown “seleziona il servizio”, select the desired service among:
- Tassa di iscrizione partecipazione concorso SAFS (Application fee for the SAFS selection process)
- Tassa di iscrizione (Enrolment fee)
- Tassa di mora per ritardato pagamento (Late payment penalty fee)
- Domanda di laurea (Graduation application fee)
Degree application: together with the degree application, to be submitted by July 31 of the current year, a payment of €70.00 must be made as a degree contribution through the PAGOPA platform.
Please note that a €16.00 revenue stamp must be affixed to the graduation application, which can also be paid via the PAGOPA platform in the section Acquista@e.bollo
Fixed fee and additional fee
For students enrolling in the School’s course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the OPD, the tuition is divided into a fixed fee and a specific additional fee that varies annually and cannot be waived.
The fee amount is divided into two instalments (see Table 1 and Table 2):
- The first instalment amounts to € 550.00 for all students, plus the Regional Study Tax (Tassa regionale per il diritto allo studio, see the specific payment methods below);
- The second instalment is calculated following the Indicatore della Situazione Economica Equivalente (ISEE). If the ISEE form is not submitted, the student will be placed in the highest income bracket.
Full or partial exemptions may be applied to both instalments, as described below under Payment Exemptions.
Regional tax
The Regional Study Tax (Tassa regionale per il diritto allo studio) must be paid by the first half of November, as per the instructions on the DSU portal. The exact amount may be consulted on the website of the Azienda regionale per il diritto allo studio universitario della Toscana.
Payment to the OPD of the Regional Study Tax must not be made via PagoPA.

Additional fee
Students are required to pay an additional fee to cover the costs of practical activities (individual PPE, materials for practical work in the laboratories and external sites, etc.) and accident and civil liability insurance.
The amount cannot be waived and varies depending on the course year:
- First year of enrolment
Euro 1,000.00 per year, of which Euro 500.00 is to be paid by 15 November 2025 and Euro 500.00 is to be paid by 30 March 2026.
- Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth years of enrolment
Euro 750.00 per year, of which Euro 250.00 is to be paid by 15 November 2025 and Euro 500.00 is to be paid by 30 March 2026.
Late fees
Deadlines falling on Saturdays or public holidays shall be moved to the following business day. In the event of late payment, the penalty fee shall be calculated following the number of days overdue as shown in Table 3.

Payment exemptions
Students who meet one of the following requirements are exempt from paying the fixed fee (Table 1 and Table 2):
- Awardees or eligible candidates of scholarships granted by the Azienda regionale per il diritto allo studio universitario della Toscana;
- Foreign awardees of scholarships granted by the Italian government;
- Students with a disability rate of 66% or higher.
On the other hand, no student is exempt from paying the additional fee.
