She obtained her diploma as a conservator from the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in the Restoration of Paintings on Canvas and Panel department in February 1987, and subsequently completed the specialisation year in Conservation of Moveable Paintings.

From 1988 to 1998 she worked for national Soprintendenze, concurrently teaching at the Università Internazionale dell’Arte in Florence.

Since December 2001 she has been a member of staff at the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in Florence, where she works as a conservator in the Moveable Paintings department and teaches at the Institute’s School of Advanced Training. She is the author of texts on the technical and conservation aspects of the works she has treated, and presents at specialist conferences. Within the School of Advanced Training she supervises numerous master’s dissertations.

In her conservation practice she has worked in Italy and abroad, including on works by Giotto, Bernardo Daddi, Lorenzo Monaco, Fra Angelico, Andrea Mantegna, Titian, Andrea del Sarto, Agnolo Bronzino and Rosso Fiorentino, carrying out scientific research and experimenting with innovative techniques in her areas of expertise in parallel with her conservation work.
