She obtained her diploma from the Opificio delle Pietre Dure in 1982 with a specialisation in the restoration of paintings on canvas and panel, and in 2007 graduated in Technologies for the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the University of Viterbo. Since 1984 she has been a conservator officer, first at the SABAP in Arezzo and from 1996 at the OPD in Florence. She is coordinator of PFP2 and teaches Materials Technology, History of Artistic Techniques and Technical Disciplines of Restoration at the SAF-OPD, of which she has been Associate Director since November 2023.

Over the course of her career she has restored, among others, works by Mantegna, Caravaggio, Bronzino, Sebastiano del Piombo, Donatello, Burri, Kiefer, Van Dyck, Rubens, Raphael, Domenico Veneziano and Cosmè Tura. She directed the restoration of the Italian Memorial at Auschwitz.

Since 2016 she has been technical director of the post-earthquake securing works at Santo Chiodo in Spoleto, Umbria. She served as deputy director of the OPD-FOP Master’s Programme in Conservation and Management of Contemporary Art (2019–22). She was a member of the working group for drafting the “Guidelines for the Identification, Adaptation, Design and Installation of Deposit Facilities for the Temporary Storage of Moveable Cultural Heritage and Associated Conservation Laboratories”, produced by the MiC – Directorate-General for the Security of Cultural Heritage (2021–22). She has a substantial record of publications on conservation and co-edited the volumes *Sebastiano del Piombo e la pittura su pietra: il Ritratto di Baccio Valori* and *Per non dimenticare. Il Memoriale italiano di Auschwitz*, both published by Edifir. She has taught on numerous courses and presented at conferences at prestigious cultural institutions in Italy and abroad.
