Giorgio Bacci (Livorno, 1980) is associate professor of contemporary art history in the SAGAS Department of the University of Florence. He graduated and specialised at the University of Pisa and obtained his PhD at the Scuola Normale Superiore, where he also held a research fellowship and a fixed-term research post as national coordinator of the Capti project (www.capti.it). In addition to essays and articles, he has written *Le illustrazioni in Italia tra Otto e Novecento. Libri a figure, dinamiche culturali e visive* (2009) and curated exhibitions (and related catalogues) dedicated to the illustrations of the publisher Salani (2012 and 2013), to the relationship between Mimmo Paladino and literature (2015 and 2016), to Roberto Innocenti (2016), Silvano Campeggi (2017), Lorenzo Mattotti (2018), Umberto Brunelleschi and Gipi (2019). He is currently engaged in a research project on young Italian artists.
