Curriculum

A conservator-restorer specialising in painted objects on wooden and textile supports, carved wooden objects, furniture and wooden structures, and objects in synthetic materials, worked, assembled and/or painted (sectors 3–4–5).

In 2021 he obtained the diploma equivalent to a master’s degree from the School of Advanced Training and Studies of the Opificio delle Pietre Dure, with a dissertation entitled “The Restoration of a Wooden Crucifix Attributed to the Workshop of Giovanni Teutonico, Destroyed during the 2016 Earthquake: Temporary Consolidation of the Paint Layer with Volatile Adhesives, Structural Treatment and Reassembly.”

In 2025 he obtained a PhD in Technologies, Conservation and Restoration of Artistic and Performing Arts Heritage from the Department of History of the Arts and Performing Arts at the University of Florence, with a dissertation entitled “Volatile Binders as Alternatives to Cyclododecane: Study and Application for the Emergency Securing and Temporary Consolidation of the Polychrome Wooden Crucifix of Santa Maria Argentea in Norcia.”

Since 2021 he has worked as a freelance conservator for public and private clients, and has gained teaching experience in Technical Disciplines for the Restoration of Polychrome Wooden Sculpture at the OPD and the Istituto Centrale per il Restauro.

Since 2024 he has collaborated with the OPD as a specialist consultant on the PNRR Extended Partnership Project “CHANGES: Cultural Heritage Innovation for Next-Gen Sustainable Society”, working on the research strand “Testing of temporary consolidants for the emergency securing of works of art and for the prevention of further damage during transport or conservation treatment”.

His principal areas of interest and study concern the construction techniques, structural conservation, emergency securing, adhesion and consolidation of polychrome wooden objects, and in particular wooden sculpture.
