The four-lobed panel depicts the winged Fame flying over the globe. It is an example of the collaboration between the Florentine workshop and the one founded in Prague by the Hapsburg emperor Rudolph, where artisans coming from Florence created Florentine mosaics inspired by Florentine models.
The pictorial model is indeed to be ascribed to the Florentine painter Bernardino Poccetti, whereas the polychrome jaspers that shape the figure and the globe come from Bohemia, following the custom of the imperial workshop in Prague of using exclusively jaspers, very common in Bohemia.
