This table cabinet comes from the Prague workshop. It was sent as a gift to the Florentine grand duke and reported in the 1624 catalogue of the pieces of furniture of the villa at Poggio Imperiale.
The cabinet looks typically northern in shape and inventiveness. Inside it has 24 drawers and small doors, which magically open rotating the column on the left of the main door.
An extractable drawer in the base, moveable by means of two gilded silver handles, holds a back-gammon board game, then known as “tric-trac”.
The outer surfaces are enriched by semi-precious stone mosaic panels with landscape scenes, preferred in the Bohemian workshop.
